Worship

More to come, I'm late for a meeting right now!
So, this weekend was pretty much the BEST weekend of my life. With a group of about nine youth from yes church (plus alison, our wonderful youth pastor) we went to Acquire the Fire!!!!! I think that every single youth's life was changed in one manner or another - and I was personally affected by the weekend as well!

Its kinda hard to even put into words why it was so life changing... but it was. It was also just really FUN!

Here are some pics from the event!

Aweome Quotes

Awesome Quotes...

So... about that procrastination thing... working out really well... not only am I procrastinating school work now, but also the thing that I usually do to procrastinate school work, because it is also making me anxious and upset (not that I would actually admit that to anyone but hey, this is bloggin)....
So... here are some of my very favourite quotes... since my other computer is broken they might not be my VERY favourite ones, because I wouldn't want to misquote them and I can't get the actual ones from my other computer.... Here goes...
And also... firstly... I just want to put it out there, that I miss Joyceln. A lot. Its really not fun or funny. I really wish that she was still here. I dont know what I am going to do without her! But... I AM going to see her next weekend at ACQUIRE THE FIRE!! whooooot whoooot! Just to start off the quotes:

"If you live to be one hundred, I want to live to be one hundred minus one day... so that I never have to live a day without you."

"When you don't believe in God... he still believes in YOU."

"When faced with a challenge, look for a WAY... not a way out."

"What's the story, morning glory?"
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is out light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of GOD. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fown gear, our presence automatically liberates others."

A real friend is someone who can look at you with the biggest smile on your face... and still know that something is wrong.

Love is when you hug someone so tight... and it's still not close enough.

"Stand for something... and if you don't... someone will stand in the way of what you could have stood for... And if you don't stand for anything... what are you good for?"

"When life knocks you down... GET UP! And get over it! Get under it, get around it. Do whatever you have to do to get through it. You are divinely designed for the task at hand."

My mother once told me that "caint" was not a word and "ain't" was not a verb... and if I didn't stand for what I said... I'd fall for what I heard!"

"90% of the things I say to other people... I should be saying to myself."

You're gonna be somebody wonderful no matter what you do... because you already ARE!"

"You may be a mess, but you're God's mess, and He loves you anyways!"

"I took a stand against wrong so that I could stand to do something right. And if you're standing in my way, I suggest that you stand aside."

"You can't just... talk the talk... You have to WALK THE WALK!"

"Put more life in your living!"

"Don't tell me what you can't do. God gave you everything you need to do everything He needs you to do!"

There's SO MUCH out there to focus on that if you don't have hope... you're just not paying attention.

It doesn’t matter that you try or that you fail… That you comp out or that you cope. When it comes down to getting what God has described or prescribed for your ailments, it only matters that you hope. “Do you guys loose stuff? My mom told me that when I lost something, to close my eyes, picture the last time I had it… who I was with… and call one of them and ask them… Let hope be the last thing that you loose. And if you’ve lost hope tonight in any area… do what my mom said… close your eyes, picture the last place you had it… who you were with… and call one of them!”

For my sis:
"There's no problem that a sister can't confront, combat, plot against, ignore, make fun of, drown in chocolate sauce... or run over with the car"

The way we always care creates the family ties that bind us,
While everything we share adds to the memories which remind us
That a sister is a friend who will always stand behind us.
Even closer than before
That's how the coming years will find us.

What is Love?

Ok... so I LOVE this speech SO much. It was made on this really interestly yet corny but totally wicked (if you know the type) reality show on TLC called The Messengers by Angelica Osborne.

“We use the word love all the time… like… I loved that movie… Girl, I love them shoes… I love me some Mexican food. But the thing is, when you’re having to define it, it’s hard to put a feeling into a statement.

Now I can’t define love… but I can describe it. ‘Cause I know when I feel it, and I know when I see it.
Love is when you hug someone so tight, and it still isn’t close enough…
Love is when your ten month old baby does this ((put arms up to get picked up)) as soon as she sees you come into the room.
Love is this mother I read about who visits the penitentiary every Saturday to see the man who killed her son in a drunk driving accident.
Love is when you stand at the fence after dropping off your second grader, just hoping that she’ll turn back and blow you one more kiss.
Love is that ache that just caves your chest in when you hear that song that reminds you of the person you knew who died.
Love is when you were in that ugly phase and you had the bad Annie perm and the acne and the thick classes but cousin Fred, every time he saw you, would say “HEY BEAUTIFUL.”
Love is when you tell your fiancé that deep terrible, dark, secret you thought you could never share and he still wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
Love is that puppy tat is so happy to see you he actually pees on himself.
Love is when your child says to you, “Mommy, I want to die when you die so we’ll be in heaven together.”
Love is the rage and the anger that you feel when your best friend tells you the person that hurt him as a child and broke his spirit.
Love is when your Mama jumped out of bed at three in the morning and to hold your head while you were vomiting… and then changed the sheets and sat on the side of the tube with crackers and soda pop…
Love is when she did it again at five am, seven am, and nine am.
Love is when you’re petting your kiddy cat and she’s purring so hard she starts to hiccup
Love is when you saw that Nova video “The Miracle of Birth” and you clearly understood what an episiotomy was… and you still preyed God would send you a baby.
Love is when Jesus was on the cross and he asked His father to forgive those who beat Him, and marred him and tortured him, because he said, “They know not what they do.”
Love is the fact that your God knows all your weaknesses, all your fallacies, all your failures, and He still thinks you’re the best thing He ever did.

I can’t define love, but I can describe love. Love is when you feel your heart either because it’s aching, because it’s warm, because it’s tingling, or because it’s splitting right down the middle. That’s when you know, that you’re experiencing love.”
